Well, Emily and Brandon had their baby today at 1:05 p.m. Emily spent last night at the hospital after having several contractions during trick or treating that were about 8 min. apart. They subsided about 10:00 p.m. but they kept her as she was scheduled to be induced this a.m. anyway. Dr. Reese started pitocin around 8:30 a.m. along with an epidural as Em was about 3-4 cm. dilated. The doc broke her water at 9:30 a.m. Emily rested most of the morning and let her body do the work....which was quite a switch from her last baby when she thought she'd get an award for going it drug free :-) .....actually didn't have time to get any! Anyway, Mom and Dad went down to get lunch about 12:30 and Em was about 6 cm. When they returned 35 min. later, the doctor exited the room and said the baby had been born!!! Em said she went from 6 - 10 cm in about 20 min.!! I arrived with the girls shortly after and they got to see their NEW LITTLE BROTHER Solomon Thomas France! He weighed 8 lbs. and was 20 1/2 in. long. Lots and lots of hair! Em and Brandon are THRILLED to have a little boy!! I believe after the doctor told them it was a boy that Brandon yelled "we have a Y....we have a Y!! (you know, chromosome!) Baby and mom are resting well tonight. The girls just love him!! Isabel asked a billion questions and was also very concerned about her mommy. Maggie touched his face, turned around and waved to her Papa (grandpa) like a proud new sister, then walked to the door and said "bye bye"! They are in for some fun times!!
